You might have seen this meme going around or a version of it, but this is the reality of the time we live in right now

Seriously every morning there is a new technological advancement being announced that blows my mind just as much as the last.

I vividly remember seeing the release of ChatGPT in 2022 and thinking that was the coolest freaking thing I had ever seen or used.

NOW, looking back at that feels like picking up a VHS tape… Which is crazy to say. The leap from VHS to DVD took an almost 3 decades. But the advancement of AI models is genuinely taking weeks.

Which brings up the big question that most find themselves asking— HOW DO YOU EVEN KEEP UP??

Today I’m going to do my best to answer this.

BUT FIRST— A couple stories

First story:

One of my buddies was giving a presentation / workshop about AI the other day and about midway through he was walking around to see how everyone was doing and he came across a woman that looked really confused. He sat down to talk to her and to see what she needed. She then asked him what ChatGPT was. He laughed thinking she was messing with him… but she wasn’t. He had mentioned ChatGPT in the very first bit of his talk. They were now about 2.5 hours in and he had lost her from the very beginning.

Second story:

I have been posting more to LinkedIn about the different things I’m doing in the AI space. Recently I was Dm’d by an old connection from the storage world. He works for a very large self storage brokerage but just started his own company and is building his team. We hop on a call and he goes “ok, so here’s the deal. I don't know what I don't know. I don't know which AI to use, I don't even know all the use cases…”

The theme of both of these stories is the reality for MOST people. There is just SO MUCH going on out there with AI that it feels like a full time job to keep up with it all.

But due to a handful of very unique situations, I’ve found myself VERY up to date with all this information and therefore able to play around with it and distribute that to you weekly.

With everything though, there is an 80/20. What can you spend 20% of your time on and get 80% of the results?

I’ll tell you.

Because I genuinely believe in the law of abundance and that there is always enough to go around— HERE are the secret sources and ways that you can stay up to date on allllll this AI stuff.

Twitter. Yes, for real. Twitter is like 2-3 years ahead of the rest of the world with tech news. Go into twitter, create a random account. You can even be anon if you want. Search AI in the search bar and start reading through the posts you see and following the people that you like. Soon the algo will form around that interest and show you all the juice.
Newsletter. Like this one ;) … but seriously, there are some REALLY super AI focused newsletters that I read weekly that keep me totally up to date. These are my personal favorites

1. The Neuron
2. The Rundown AI
3. Indie Hackers
4. The Deep View
5. AI Daily Brief
6. Fry AI

But here’s the hack— Subscribe to each of these. THEN— Go into Claude Cowork and start a new task. Drop this list in there and say that you want the most relevant and important information from each these newsletters scraped and summarized for you in a daily briefing. You can elaborate on that all you want, but at a basic level, that will do great.
Those first 2 are really the 80/20 of this. Genuinely that's all you need. But without this third point, it’ll be hard for you to retain anything. You need to TRY these tools! Don't just read about them, you need to USE them. Stumble through setting it up, messing around, building random things. Take all your wild ideas and just try and make them into something. Most won’t be good, but that’s no the point. The point is that you are applying the knowledge so that you begin to understand how all this works. That’s all it takes. If you can

1) stay up to date

and

2) know how to apply all this, you will be IRREPLACEABLE in 2026 and beyond.

ON THE FLIP SIDE— I realize that all this takes a ton of time. It was MUCH harder for me to stay up to date on all this and apply it when I was a cop working 60+ hours a week away from home. Not sure easy to do a ton of AI work in my police unit… although I definitely made every effort to try ;)

NOW, I work from home and in general on my own terms. And even with this luxury, it’s still a ton to keep up with.

And THAT right there is the opportunity. The lack of time. That’s why I’m able to work with clients on AI assessments and implementation. They might know this stuff, they might even be moderately up to date on this, but the time it takes to really dial it in and do something about it, is not something they have.

But I do… and perhaps you do as well. This is an opportunity of a life time right now to be actively involved with entrepreneurship through AI. I hope you don't miss it.
