63 second Read Chase shiny objects, compounding doesn’t care.I know that might be an incredibly unpopular opinion with all the productivity gurus out there, but I’m willing to rock the boat to share this message. And this is why 👇 If this in any way resonates with you, what are you doing to change it? Often times we might get stuck on needing to have a million dollar idea or maybe we’re afraid to put ourselves out there, or taking out a loan with a bank is scary OR we don’t know how to do something... So what? None of those things are ACTUAL roadblocks. If that’s the narrative you’re telling yourself for why you aren’t control of your time, money and life, you’re not alone. But there’s a solution. It’s unorthodox and you might not like it, but it will work. I say this because I’m DOING IT. If you’ve been reading for a minute you know all the different projects I have going on. Just to name a few:
And there’s more... The unorthodox solution I’m talking about here is to CHASE SHINY OBJECTS. Get busier. Take on more things. Say yes to more. Deep dive down rabbit holes. I know that sounds crazy, but what you’ll be doing here is putting yourself in front of opportunities door. I don’t know which door that is, and neither do you, but if you don’t say yes and try more things, you’ll NEVER find out. By doing this, you'll also be stretching yourself to become so much more capable than you ever thought you could be. Am I doing a ton of things right now? Oh ya 100%! Not to mention 3 kids, full time job, etc. But it didn’t start that way. Just take one thing on and work on at a time. Then added another. If the idea doesn’t show any promise, just drop it. If it does, keep it going and see if you can say yes to something else that comes up. The point is, if you’ve been told for years now that you have to choose one thing and put all your focus in on that one thing in order to be a success, I’d argue that you don’t have to do that. In fact, I think you can become even MORE of a success if you do a bunch of things at first. You might even become unstoppable! Bringing this back full circle here: If you clock in to a soul sucking 9-5 that doesn’t ignite the fire within you... Where your time isn’t your time... The vacations you want to take are too short... Where your lunch time is regulated…. And that Reddit post in any way resonated with you... I would encourage you to say yes to more. Get curious. Chase some shiny objects. Make yourself busy and overwhelmed with side projects. Pursue passions. And do EVERYTHING YOU POSSIBLY CAN to build a bridge out. Life is too short to be stuck doing something you don’t love. Hey Reader! Thanks for reading this! 2 second question for you: I'm writing a book. It will be on how to find and close on your first self storage facility. All the things that I wish I would have known before doing that. QUESTION 👇 If you've ever been curious about self storage and that process, what would YOU want included in the book? I'll make sure to add that to the book as I write it. Until next time... An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success 2.6min Read Because I don’t know if what I’m about to do is going to work. But I think it’s important that I at least try. So if this IS the last one... I appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for tuning in. Ok. Now that I got the hook out of the way (and possibly got you to keep reading)... I’m going to keep writing these emails. The only question is whether the email platform I’m building to replace the one I pay for every year will actually...
An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success 3.5min Read October 16, 2025 was my last day as a police officer. Listen to this instead: HERE As you're reading this, it's been a full year since I left a career I thought I'd spend 30 years in. I didn't want to spend those 30 years there, but I didn't feel like I had another choice.BUT... I did believe I was meant to do bigger things. So in the background, for those 10 years, I experimented. I tinkered. I chased a lot of shiny objects. So if you...
An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success 2.8min Read If you haven’t seen the movie Slumdog Millionaire... watch it when you can. I’ve referenced it a couple of times over the years, and I believe that movie is a brilliant representation of what is available to each and every one of us in life. I’m not saying everyone is going to make a million dollars or end up on a game show like that. What I’m saying is that as we go through life, every experience we have, everything we go through,...
