**An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success**

Happy Sunday everyone!

I’m sitting here 50,000 feet in the sky on a flight back home (Southern California) after a Live Shark tank event in Provo with Chris Koerner.

Not the REAL shark tank, our own version, but still absolutely incredible.

It was thrown together last minute, but WHEN we do another, I’ll make sure yo let everyone know.

It was this event that inspired this weeks newsletter.

NETWORKING… and how doing 3 super simple things can completely change the game for the value you receive AND give.

Oh and how you can use AI to make this all possible.

Let’s jump in—

Capture your conversations

I’ve mentioned this before but I was FINALLY able to put this to use at a networking event. The Memoket is an AI wearable recording device that I put on and had running the entire 4.5 hours that I was there. But why?

Great question. Multiple reasons—

1) I’m ALWAYS producing content from what happens throughout the week. This comes in the form of newsletters, podcasts (coming soon), posts, blogs, etc. capturing the conversations gives me a way to have a transcript of everything I said and all the small, but meaningful chats I had with others and use that for the content flywheel.

2) it helps me remember what and who I talked to with extreme accuracy so that I’m not having to stop and take notes after conversations.

3) it provides me with the ability to great immediate value for the people I chatted with if there was anything worthy of that.

FOR EXAMPLE—
I took the entire transcript and exported it as a markdown. I then uploaded it into Claude and prompted it to

“Take this transcript from the live event I was just a part of and analyze it with this in mind — if there are any items of value that I could create/ build/ produce for anyone that I talked to, describe to me the most impactful conversations I had and any takeaways that might change projects that I’m currently working on and finally, any conversations that I had that could become meaningful content for Twitter, emails, blogs or podcast episodes.”

There is SO much you can do when you have that much context.

Come prepared

One thing that I will do for each event is create a custom contact card with a QR code that people can scan. This pulls up a webpage that will save my contact in their phone, show them my links and then give them a space to make notes about where they met me.

It is SUPER easy. I built mine in Codex, deployed it to Netlify for free hosting and then just change the unique URL depending on the event I’m going to.

It is something cool and makes you stand out. A business card is also still great, but I’m a little nerdy and like this better.

Bring something of value

This one I’m borrowing from a buddy of mine who once told me: “every event people are going to take, be the person that gives.”

He was invited to a top secret OpenAI party in San Francisco and last minute he was able to get a handful of wooden keychains printed with the Codex logo on them. He brought those to the event and became known as “the keychain guy” that everyone wanted to talk to.

Simple as that! Lead with value.

There you have it, 3 super simple networking hacks that will make you stand out at any event you go to.

The event i was just at was jam packed with entrepreneurs who have brilliant businesses and business ideas. 250+ applicants with only 10 selected to pitch and just a few that got deals with the “sharks”.
