Your Super Simple Guide To Understanding AI

1.5min Read

Don’t overthink it. Seriously.

First, let me get this out of the way; you’re not too late.

You haven’t missed the bus.

AI is SO new right now that just by reading this email, you will be so far ahead of most of the world.

It’s easy to see all the news and posts about the developments and think that you’ve missed the boat or that it’s all too much or too confusing or you’re too out of touch or whatever.

Let me bust that myth right now and let you know that those are false beliefs. You’re right where you’re suppose to be.

Whether you’re well read on the AI developments or you really don’t have any clue about the power or AI…

Or maybe you don’t even trust it (and that’s okay as well) — This email will break down the very basics with integrating AI to your daily tasks, how you can dip your feet into harnessing it’s power and how you are truly at the very beginning stages of the AI development.

You haven’t missed anything, I PROMISE.

And I am not an AI guru by any means, but I do see its importance in the future of business, entrepreneurship, the creator economy and with general productivity.

But check this out;

More than ANY of that, the BIG PICTURE in my mind, and the reason that we NEED to be in the know and pay attention to the new developments, is because AI is literally bridging the gap between idea and reality.

Between imagination and real life

Between what if and what next

Between dreamland and boots on the ground

You get the picture.

And that’s not just around the corner. We are THERE.

What once was literally impossible or cost tens of thousands of dollars/ months of dev, is now possible for a blue collar knuckle dragger like myself with ZERO coding experience.

*** ok maybe a little markdown syntax 🤣

This is what I want you to understand and wrap your head around before anything else.

The possibilities are truly becoming endless.

And while this is not a cumulative guide to making your dream ideas into reality, this is the VERY basic entry level into understanding the AI that CAN do that.

Step 1:

Stay in the know. I have a few newsletters that I subscribe to and read daily to keep me updated with what’s happening

Rundown

The Neuron

The Fry AI

Jeff Su

Step 2:

There are THOUSANDS of new AI apps coming out daily it seems like.

Easy to get overwhelmed.

Here are the ones I’m using almost daily

Open AI Chat GPT - Plus subscription

DALL E - included in my subscription

Data Analyst - included in my subscription

Canva - Paid subscription

Notebook LLM - Free

I’ll stop there for now.

There isn’t a lot here, yet there is SO much that can be done with just these apps.

With Chat GPT alone, there are hundreds of GPTs included in the subscription that you have access to. From image generation to video editing, data analytics, copy writing, etc.

But even at a super duper basic level, JUST CHAT WITH IT.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. That use is highly underrated.

For Notebook LLM, I’m using that to organize my endless thoughts and notes and pull from those easily.

For example, all the notes I take on the books I read I copy over to a word document and share it with my Notebook LLM. From there I’m able to look up and aggregate any lesson or topic that I highlighted as I read. I’ll also upload PDFs of the books if I have them and cross reference those.

Again, while those are simple uses, those are also game changing capabilities that we didn’t have access to even a few months ago.

Step 3:

Experiment.

The time that we’re in right now is very similar to the early development and launch of the internet. Lot’s of skeptics, lots of noise, lots of early adopters and of course as we know, lots of opportunities.

Your MILLION DOLLAR IDEA might not happen overnight, but I'd encourage you to experiment with some of these apps and try things out. Get the juices flowing, see what already exists and how you might be able to make something better or different.

Maybe you’re not even wanting to make a business out of this new fangled AI stuff, but at the very least, if you can harness even a TINY percentage of the possibilities, you can add massive value to your life or whatever other business you have going on.

Hate sitting in on Zooms? AI notetakers exist

Want to create your own tunes but know nothing about music? AI has solutions for that

Sick of reading BORING PDFs and pulling out the data? Yep, easy peasy

Maybe you just need a better way to track habits or your daily schedule… AI can help

Is AI the end all? No, absolutely not. I said this a year ago and I stand by it, the work itself is being outsourced, but you still need a prompter (for now).

Just as a conductor doesn’t play each instrument in the orchestra, but they keep the musicians on track, a good prompter will lead the AI in the direction that they want it to go.

The more in the know you are, the more opportunities will appear right before your eyes.

I’m just a normal dude building some big things and working to stay in the know. The more that I learn, the more I’ll share with you. And that’s a promise.

Until next time...

Stay in the fight,

An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success 2.6min Read Because I don’t know if what I’m about to do is going to work. But I think it’s important that I at least try. So if this IS the last one... I appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for tuning in. Ok. Now that I got the hook out of the way (and possibly got you to keep reading)... I’m going to keep writing these emails. The only question is whether the email platform I’m building to replace the one I pay for every year will actually...

An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success 3.5min Read October 16, 2025 was my last day as a police officer. Listen to this instead: HERE As you're reading this, it's been a full year since I left a career I thought I'd spend 30 years in. I didn't want to spend those 30 years there, but I didn't feel like I had another choice.BUT... I did believe I was meant to do bigger things. So in the background, for those 10 years, I experimented. I tinkered. I chased a lot of shiny objects. So if you...

An entrepreneur's recipe for sweet success 2.8min Read If you haven’t seen the movie Slumdog Millionaire... watch it when you can. I’ve referenced it a couple of times over the years, and I believe that movie is a brilliant representation of what is available to each and every one of us in life. I’m not saying everyone is going to make a million dollars or end up on a game show like that. What I’m saying is that as we go through life, every experience we have, everything we go through,...
